Privacy Policy — Mahsoob

Mahsoob (محسوب) is an AI-powered calorie counter for Gulf, Arab, and international cuisine.

We respect your privacy. The app runs locally on your device with no accounts and no login. The single exception is the food photos or text you actively submit for AI analysis — explained below.

1. Data stored only on your device

All of the following is stored locally on your device:

Your profile (optional name, age, height, weight, sex, activity level, goal).
Your logged meals, their nutrition values, and dates.
Your weight and water history.
Your settings and preferences.

You can erase all of this at any time from inside the app (Settings → App Data → Erase everything), or by deleting the app.

2. Photos & food text (AI analysis)

When you choose to analyze a meal by photo or by text:

The image or text is first sent to our secure server (built on Supabase), which forwards it to OpenAI to analyze it and estimate its nutritional content.
Our server only relays the request in real time; we do not retain your photos on our servers.
These requests are not linked to your personal identity (there is no account or login).
The resulting values are approximate, AI-estimated, and not a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional.
OpenAI's processing is governed by its privacy policy: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
OpenAI may retain API requests transiently (typically up to ~30 days) for abuse monitoring per its API data-usage policy, and does not use API inputs to train its models. We do not store your photos on our servers.

Your consent & control: Before the first time a photo or description is sent, the app asks for your explicit, one-time consent that names OpenAI as the recipient. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings → Privacy → "Share photos with AI." When consent is off, AI analysis is disabled and you can still log meals manually, by barcode, or from the built-in catalog.

Photos you select are also stored locally with the meal on your device.

3. Barcodes

When you scan a product barcode, only the barcode number is sent to public food databases to retrieve product information:

No personal data is sent with the barcode.

4. Health data (Apple Health / Health Connect)

If you enable Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), the app reads only active calories burned and step count to show them in your daily balance. This data is read on your device only and is never sent to any server. You can revoke this permission anytime in your system settings.

5. What we do NOT collect

No account required.
No analytics, no cross-app tracking.
No ads.
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.

6. Service providers

To power AI analysis we rely on:

Supabase — our secure relay server that receives the analysis request and forwards it.
OpenAI — to analyze food images and descriptions.

7. Notifications

If you enable reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. We do not push notifications from a server.

8. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Updates appear on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

سياسة الخصوصية — تطبيق محسوب

تطبيق محسوب (Mahsoob) — حاسبة سعرات بالذكاء الاصطناعي للأكل الخليجي والعربي والعالمي.

نحترم خصوصيتك. التطبيق يعمل محلياً على جهازك بدون حسابات ولا تسجيل دخول. الاستثناء الوحيد هو صور أو نصوص الأكل اللي ترسلها بنفسك للتحليل بالذكاء الاصطناعي — موضّح أدناه.

١. البيانات التي تُخزَّن على جهازك فقط

كل بياناتك التالية تُحفَظ محلياً على جهازك:

ملفك الشخصي (الاسم الاختياري، العمر، الطول، الوزن، الجنس، مستوى النشاط، الهدف).
وجباتك المسجّلة وقيمها الغذائية وتاريخها.
سجلّ وزنك وكمية الماء.
إعداداتك وتفضيلاتك.

تستطيع حذف هذه البيانات في أي وقت من داخل التطبيق (الإعدادات ← بيانات التطبيق ← مسح كل شيء)، أو بحذف التطبيق من جهازك.

٢. الصور ونصوص الأكل (الذكاء الاصطناعي)

عند اختيارك تحليل وجبة بالصورة أو بالنص:

تُرسَل الصورة أو النص أولاً إلى خادمنا الآمن (مبني على Supabase)، ومنه يُمرَّر إلى خدمة OpenAI لتحليله وتقدير محتواه الغذائي.
يستخدم خادمنا الطلب فقط لتمريره لحظياً، ولا نحتفظ بصورك على خوادمنا.
لا تُربَط هذه الطلبات بهويتك الشخصية (لا يوجد حساب ولا تسجيل دخول).
القيم الناتجة تقريبية ومقدّرة بالذكاء الاصطناعي، وليست بديلاً عن استشارة مختص صحي معتمد.

قد تحتفظ OpenAI بطلبات الواجهة البرمجية مؤقتاً (عادةً حتى ٣٠ يوماً) لأغراض مراقبة إساءة الاستخدام وفق سياسة استخدام بياناتها، ولا تستخدم هذه المدخلات لتدريب نماذجها. ونحن لا نخزّن صورك على خوادمنا.

موافقتك وتحكّمك: قبل أول مرة تُرسَل فيها صورة أو وصف، يطلب التطبيق موافقتك الصريحة لمرة واحدة ويذكر أن المُستقبِل هو OpenAI. تقدر تسحب الموافقة في أي وقت من الإعدادات ← الخصوصية ← «مشاركة الصور مع الذكاء الاصطناعي». وعند إيقافها يتعطّل التحليل بالذكاء الاصطناعي، وتبقى قادراً على تسجيل وجباتك يدوياً أو بالباركود أو من كتالوج التطبيق.

الصور التي تختارها تبقى أيضاً محفوظة محلياً مع الوجبة على جهازك.

٣. الباركود

عند مسح باركود منتج، يُرسَل رقم الباركود فقط إلى قواعد بيانات غذائية عامة لجلب معلومات المنتج:

لا تُرسَل أي بيانات شخصية مع الباركود.

٤. بيانات الصحة (Apple Health / Health Connect)

إذا فعّلت الربط بـ Apple Health (iOS) أو Health Connect (أندرويد)، يقرأ التطبيق السعرات المحروقة وعدد الخطوات فقط لعرضها ضمن حسابك اليومي. تُقرأ هذه البيانات على جهازك فقط ولا تُرسَل إلى أي خادم. يمكنك إلغاء هذا الإذن في أي وقت من إعدادات نظامك.

٥. ما لا نجمعه

لا نطلب إنشاء حساب.
لا نجمع بيانات تحليلية (Analytics) ولا نتتبّعك عبر التطبيقات.
لا نعرض إعلانات.
لا نبيع أو نشارك بياناتك مع أطراف ثالثة لأغراض تسويقية.

٦. مزوّدو الخدمة

لتشغيل ميزة التحليل بالذكاء الاصطناعي نستعين بـ:

Supabase — خادمنا الوسيط الآمن اللي يستقبل طلب التحليل ويمرّره.
OpenAI — لتحليل صور ووصف الأكل.

٧. الإشعارات

إذا فعّلت التذكيرات، تُجدوَل الإشعارات محلياً على جهازك. لا نرسل إشعارات من خادم.

٨. الأطفال

التطبيق غير موجّه للأطفال دون 13 عاماً.

٩. التغييرات على هذه السياسة

قد نحدّث هذه السياسة. سيظهر التحديث في هذه الصفحة مع تعديل تاريخ "آخر تحديث".
